Exactly thirty years ago, back in 1994’s spring, Islamic Relief Pakistan started its journey with a sole mission of transforming lives besides bringing a speck of gold, hope and opportunities to millions of people across the country. Our enshrined values of compassion, custodianship, sincerity, social justice and excellence guide us to serve humanity in the finest way possible. During the last three decades, we have been delivering on our promises to bring a lasting change in Pakistan. With ‘Reaching the most in Need’ and ‘First on Ground’ as our hallmarks, Islamic Relief Pakistan has been addressing the deep-rooted issues faced by the country like poverty, water, sanitation and hygiene, food security and livelihoods, climate change, health, orphans and women empowerment including emergency responses and disaster risk reduction. As we work to come up with solutions for the most pressing issues of our times, Islamic Relief Pakistan will always stay indebted to the resilient people of Pakistan who helped us to grow and serve.
Our Climate Adaptive Action for Food Security programme is being implemented in two UCs in Thatta, Sindh; Khagan and Mohal. We’re supporting local farmers to overcome climate challenges and adopt sustainable practices for food production making resilient communities. We are working with the government to provide support for climate-adaptive farming in Thatta, with a special focus on empowering women and enhancing their socio-economic status.. Increasing awareness about alternative climate-resilient strategies among stakeholders
Concept of CAAFSS Information Hub-Thatta
Agriculture is the backbone of Sindh, Pakistan’s economy, yet farmers often lack timely access to expert advice, market trends, weather updates, and modern farming techniques. To address this critical gap, Islamic Relief Pakistan, under the CAAFSS project, has developed a digital information hub along with the CAAFSS mobile application. This initiative is being implemented in close collaboration with the Agriculture Extension Department and is generously funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
The platform aims to empower farmers with accurate knowledge, practical guidance, and real-time support. By providing a comprehensive digital system, CAAFSS enables farmers to improve crop yields, adopt sustainable and climate-resilient practices, and access expert advisory services in an efficient and timely manner.
